BFTA GM

Post by nats » Mon May 31, 2021 1:35 pm

Good afternoon all,

Jason kindly sent me the last of the correspondence from the BFTA that he received recently. The contents of which are the General Meeting Agenda for the 3rd July.

There isn’t really much for clubs to vote on but a couple of points which club reps should discuss with their respective clubs are:

1. Showdown 2021

After much consideration and a suggestion by Shaun Shore who would have been running the showdown weekend. The qualification processes this year is going to be near on impossible and unfair. Therefore, a proposal has been formed regarding the showdown event from the MFTA and has the backing of secretary and the chairman

Proposal: Substitute the Showdown with a 2x30 target event To mirror the format of the Masters (same entry fee as Masters) with prizes/trophies as deemed fit by the BFTA (an award could be made for the top scores over the weekend).

If the above proposal isn’t accepted, please put forward ideas for alternative ways of conducting the showdown event.

2. BFTA Euros 2021

Due to the cancellation of the Weston Park event, the BFTA is considering alternative venues. If any club in the region feels they could host this two day event then let your club rep know. Wales have offered to host at Nelson.

3. NiFTA

NiFTA have asked to be affiliated with the BFTA – This is to be discussed at the GM.

4. SEFTA GP hosts 2022
(if we ever get COVID free), we know Kent can’t so if we can find which club is prepared to host we can put this forward at the GM. (also which date said clubs prefer).

Proposed dates:

GP1 17th April (EASTER SUNDAY!!)
GP2 15th May
GP3 29th May
GP4 12th June
GP5 26th June
GP6 10th July
GP7 24th July
GP8 14th August
GP9 28th August

Thanks all,

Nat

Received a short time ago from Dave Robinson

Hi Everyone

As you will all be in no doubt due to the delay in the govt removing lockdown restrictions from the 21st of June the meeting is postponed I’ve manage to get meadow farm re booked for the Saturday 24th July provisional on the fact that lockdown restrictions are eased on the 19th of July.

As such as restrictions are in place the Inters weekend will go ahead but everyone will need to observe social distancing whilst on Emley moors grounds.

Can everyone get their inters teams entered as soon as you know who your team is.

Some good news for the Euros we have four proposed grounds

Those been

1, The Chateau in France as described in the original email Bit of a non starter with travel restrictions costs and logistics as previously voiced concern not really an ideal solution for this year.

2, Redfern’s in NEFTA who are happy for the bfta to have use of the ground for the 2 days of competition and would charge £500 for the weekend provide targets etc. The competition Marshalls stats etc all supplied by the BFTA as normal at the euros Downside is its in NEFTA again so would be 3 major comps In NEFTA that people are doing the travelling to.

3, Nelson In WAFTA have also offered to host and will undertake and again will provide the ground targets etc with The BFTA providing the rest as normal only thing if John Johnston could confirm is what money is Nelson wanting for this? Thanks again to WAFTA for stepping up to host shoots.

4, I’ve been approached by Phil Hollis in FFTA there’s a ground similar setup to Blackbrook. Its in the Wellingborough Northampton area website https://www.woldfarm.co.uk ....

Video on Facebook https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A ... PiP6nKwtWI

This would be a ground never shot before for a competition especially for the BFTA the grounds can provide everything that is required ie parking two 50 shot courses etc. Again I’m not sure of the cost involved for the weekend I’m awaiting an answer of what that would look like and should find out after the weekend but could be nice to have another ground under our belt and looks like a great place.

If you can have a chat amongst regions to get a feel of what everyone would be happy with and il find out about money for option 4 and if John could ask nelson guys what they are looking for money wise? If

Cheers
Dave

This also seems quite popular with the other regions. As you say new ground would be a nice option.

Wold Farm here as well, always good to have a choice, plus you know that it's going to be challenging with the wind.
